Marine Energy Platform

Clean Energy Provider

Quaker Research LLC

About us

Quaker Research LLC was created to find new methods or processes for renewable energy development. Our new major development is the Marine Energy Platform (MEP).  The MEP is designed to operate in ocean waters, particularly with locations close to municipalities or communities that are not located within a grid connection.  The MEP is designed to operate in two modes which will supply the main needs of communities.  The first mode operates to generate electricity.  The second mode operates as a desalination platform in order to supply clean water.  The desalination mode intakes water directly from the ocean and transforms the water into clean water through the Salt Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) process via specialized filters.

Other Renewable Resources, mainly the two sources that are in use in the preponderance of locations, wind and solar, have the major disadvantage of being dependent on the weather.  Additionally, wind and solar require a fair amount of real estate for their construction.  Also, wind and solar installations  require permits and land rights.  Depending on where they are constructed in relation to the end user, the requirement of transmission lines also poses a different set of problems when it comes to the grid connection.

Advantages of the MEP

The MEP eliminates the problems mentioned above with wind and solar installations.  The MEP can also be constructed as a stand-alone facility on land, using fresh water as the operating medium instead of saltwater.  The MEP is then referred to a Land Energy Platform, or LEP.  Therefore, when using the MEP and LEP in combinations, we can achieve the goal of providing electricity at the Point of Use of the customer.
